Band Rules & Regulations
  1. The name of the Band shall be Waterbeach Brass.
  2. The Band shall have a Committee consisting of President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Bandmaster, Librarian and up to six other Committee Members.  A quorum for Committee meetings shall be four Committee Members with the Chairman holding the casting vote.
  3. The Annual General Meeting shall be held on the last Monday in June of each year.  All offices will be open for re-election at the AGM and Committee Members and all paid-up Members of the Band shall be eligible to vote.  Vice Presidents may be nominated at the AGM and at any Committee meeting throughout the year.
  4. Band practices shall be held on Monday and Thursday evenings (as required) at 1930 to 2130 in the Community Library or at an alternative venue.  Extra practices will be held at the Bandmaster's discretion.
  5. Members will be expected to attend Band Practice regularly.  If a member is absent for four consecutive weeks, the Committee shall instruct the Secretary to contact the member to ascertain his/her intentions with regard to continuing with the Band.  If the said member wishes to resign, such resignation shall be tendered in writing and any Band property returned within a three-week period.  Uniforms shall be returned in good order and dry-cleaned.  The committee reserves the right to expel members where it deems it appropriate.
  6. An annual subscription shall be payable by both senior and junior members and shall be paid annually or bi-annually.
  7. Members are requested to dress in the official uniform for all engagements (unless otherwise directed before an engagement) which shall be as follows:
    • Men:  Band jacket, Band trousers, white shirt, black bow tie, black socks and black shoes.
    • Women: Band jacket, Black Trousers, white shirt, black bow tie, black socks and black shoes.
  8. On no account shall Band jackets be worn other than when playing.
  9. Each member shall be responsible for the care and cleanliness of all band property loaned to them.  It is recommended that all privately owned instruments be insured by the owner as the Band shall not be held responsible for any damage or  loss incurred to any privately owned instruments at any time.
  10. Whilst new members are always welcome, the Committee reserves the right to refuse membership.
  11. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called at the request of any member by giving 14 days notice of such a meeting.
